Student of the Year
Rotary Students of the Year are now being chosen and presented at our weekly Rotary meeting. School faculty of the 5th and 8th grades of all of our local schools select the recipients of this citizenship award. These outstanding students have demonstrated Rotary’s values of Service Above Self and have met the criteria of the Rotary Four-Way Test. Academic performance is an additional consideration.
Each student will receive a tag to go on their school’s Rotary Student of the Year plaque as well as a certificate for their home to mark this fine achievement.
March 11 Student of the year is Harlynn Christensen, 5th grader from Fruitdale Elementary School. February 18 Two students, the first is Marquee Hersha; 5th grader from Applegate School. She was accompanied by her Father Travis Hersha (red & blue flannel), brother Darin Hersha, her Mother, Rhiannon Davis (red boots and red vest), and Principal Steve Fuller.
February 18 The second student is Taven Beckstead, 8th grader from Applegate School. The man in the blue shirt is Principal Steve Fuller, the man in the white shirt is probably his dad.
February 11 Student of the Year is Darien Ruiz, 5th grader from Redwood Elementary. He was accompanied by his Mother Karla Padilla (purple long sleeve), sister Eliana Ruiz (floral top), her Grandmother, Hortencia Padilla (striped top), and teacher Andrea Tunick (big green sweater).
February 4 Student of the Year is Ashton Spendlove, 5th grader from Highland Elementary. He was accompanied by his Father Nicholas Spendlove (white button-up), Mother Shauna Spendlove (black shirt), older sister Kamryn Spendlove (red shirt), and her younger brother, Channing Spendlove (Highland Hawks sweatshirt). Ashton is in the blue shirt.
January 21 Student of the Year is Norah Williamson, 5th grader from Madrona Elementary. She was accompanied by her Mother Tami Williamson (brown shirt), Stepdad Tyler Keel (black flannel/jeans), Stepsister Izzy Keel (grey sweater), her Principal Kellie Lovell (floral dress), and her teacher Elizabeth Pettinger (tan/black dress).
