The Rotary Invitational Track Meet is the largest single service project in Josephine County and is staffed and officiated by the four Rotary clubs of the county, the five lnteract clubs of the local high schools, the Rotaract Club of RCC, and family and friends – nearly 100 volunteers in total. Some Rotarians that volunteer now competed in this annual meet when they attended high school. This April 28th will be our 69th year of inviting the 300 best track athletes from over 40 schools in Oregon and Northern California. This event also serves as a precursor to the State Track Meet and prepares athletes for the difficult competition that they will be facing. The interest and participation in track in this county has dramatically increased since GPHS won the state championship two years ago. The previous state victory was over 60 years ago.
Track meet takes at the Russ Werner Field at Grants Pass HS on 9th St, north of A Street. Field events start at 10:00AM, running events at 10:30. Breakfast is available for volunteers starting at 8:30, be at your stations by 9:45.
