2016-17 ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The Rotary Youth Exchange Program provides thousands of young individuals the opportunity to meet people from other countries and experience their cultures. Rotary is one of the best programs in the world. It is a true exchange, the Grants Pass Rotary Clubs bring three students from other countries to our community and we send three of our own out for a year abroad.
As a Rotary Youth Exchange Student, you will spend a year in another country, living with host families and attending school. You’ll learn a new way of living, a new language, and a great deal about yourself. As you’re learning, you will also be teaching the people you meet about your country, your culture and your ideas. You’ll be an ambassador, helping to bring the world closer together and making some good friends in the process, AND promoting world peace.
This year we have a student from GPHS spending her junior year in Germany. Our inbound students are: a girl from Belgium, a boy from Japan and one from Brazil.
If you are ready for the challenge and the rewards of living in a host country as an exchange student, you will need to apply during the Fall. If accepted into the program, you will spend the next 9 months preparing for this great adventure. You’ll need to be between the ages of l5-l7 1/2 when you apply. Ask your counselor about the presentations for the Exchange Program.

Ann can also answer questions regarding “How to become Host Parents”. It is a rewarding program for the entire family to experience.
